Built for the people who cut the wood
Every calculator takes lengths the way you'd write them on a board (11' 6 1/2, 7 3/4, 16') and gives answers rounded to the nearest 1/8", 1/16" or 1/32". No sign-up, no app to install. Save a page to your phone's home screen and it works like an app.
What's here
- Construction calculator: a feet-inch keypad with rise, run, pitch, stair and jack keys.
- Rafter length: common rafter line length with ridge setback, overhang and a birdsmouth check.
- Deck joists: maximum joist span by size, spacing and species from the IRC table.
- Hip & valley: hip length, plumb angle and a full jack rafter cut list.
- Stair stringer: risers, treads, total run and stringer length, checked against the IRC.
- Roof pitch: pitch to degrees and back, plus a pitch chart.
- Square-up: diagonals for foundations, decks and walls, and 3-4-5 layout.
- Stud layout: stud count and every layout mark for 16", 24" or 19.2" O.C.
- Board feet: lumber volume and cost.
- Feet & inches: add and subtract tape measurements, running-tape style.
The math is checked against the rafter tables on a steel framing square and tested before every update. Still, measure twice: results are estimates. Check all math and verify with a licensed engineer and your local building department before you build.
